Terms & Conditions
By booking your stay with us, you agree to accept The Fernside Guest House terms and conditions as set out below.
- Reservations:
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total value of your reservation must be paid at the time of booking to secure your room. If paying your deposit by cheque, we must receive payment within 5 working days, or the reservation will be cancelled.
- You may prefer to secure a booking by giving us your credit/debit card details. Your deposit may be paid this way if you wish, or we could use your card as a guarantee in which case we would debit your card with 20% of the total in the event of cancellation.
- If you are forced to cancel for any reason, we will make every effort to re-let your room/s, however, should we not succeed, we reserve the right to levy a cancellation charge of the total cost of your booking, in any event you will lose your deposit. Therefore we strongly recommend that you consider holiday insurance.
- All cancellations must be put in writing.
- All ferry inclusive breaks and ferry bookings must be secured by credit/debit card.
- The management reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund, if you or any member of your party behaves in an unacceptable manner that causes offence to the management, staff or other guests.
- You will be liable for any breakages or damage caused by you or any member of your party.
- The Fernside Guesthouse operates a non-smoking policy in all areas of the hotel.
- We will do our utmost to ensure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable, but there may be occasions when problems arise due to unforeseen circumstances, for these we will not be held responsible.
- If you encounter any problems with your room, you must report these to the management as soon as possible, as they will not be rectified at the end of your stay by way of a refund.
- Rooms are available from 2:00pm on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure, or we will make a charge of half the daily rate.
- No refund will be given for missed meals.
- No refund will be given if you decide to leave before the agreed departure date.
- Child rates (for children 7-15 years inclusive) only apply if the child is sharing a family room with their parents. If a separate room is required then the full adult price will apply. We regret we cannot acommodate children under 7 years.
- At least two adults must occupy a double or twin room. Adult rate will apply to any child sharing a twin or double room with an adult.
- At least two paying adults and two paying children must occupy a family room.
- Towels supplied in the rooms must not be taken out of the building for any other use, under any circumstances.
- For ferry inclusive breaks, a minimum of 2 adults must book and travel in the same car and the stay must be for a minimum of three nights.
- We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
