About The Fernside

Within a short walk from Sandown station lies an old Victorian house, situated close to the town centre and sandy beaches that identify this picturesque area of the Isle of Wight.

Once a family home, The Fernside is now a family run establishment with eleven rooms, a lounge and bar area, dining room and guest car park. Many visitor attractions are within easy reach from Sandown, so The Fernside offers the perfect location for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday or short break.

The owners, Lawrie and Denise Davis, offer a warm welcome and will ensure that your visit to The Fernside is relaxing and enjoyable.

Guest rooms

The Fernside has 11 comfortable en-suite rooms, equipped with full central heating, tea and coffee making facilities, television with Freeview® and clock radio alarm.

We offer a choice of bedrooms; Single, Double, Twin and Family (sleeping 2 adults and 2 children). Please refer to the tariff page for prices.

Hand and bath towels are provided for each guest together with complimentary shower gel, shampoo and soap. Guests have individual room and front door keys to enable all-day access.

We operate a no smoking and no pets policy throughout the hotel.

Lounge and bar area

With comfortable seating and a widescreen digital television, the lounge offers a homely environment for meeting with friends and family and relaxing at the end of a busy day.

It also contains a well-stocked residents’ bar - the ideal place to enjoy a quiet drink before and/or after visiting one of the many excellent eating establishments nearby.
